The trust is broken, do I stay?
Moving past the hurt into a better relationship!
The trust is broken, do I stay?

Trust is a remarkably interesting concept: it takes time to build, its is easily lost and difficult to regain. It’s like one of your mirrors - it’s whole, easy to look into, and you trust the image you see. However, what happens when it’s broken? It’s hard to fix and look into because pieces are missing. It becomes increasingly difficult to trust what you’re seeing. It’s specially difficult in a close relationship. Once trust is broken these questions become a constant part of the relationship: Will they do it again? Will they hurt me? Can I trust you?
Many of us have had that experience of others breaking our trust, whether it's family, a spouse, partner, or a friend. We desire to turn back the hands of time to when the relationship felt more secure.
Here are some tips to start re-building trust:
DON’T RUSH the process by allowing yourself some time to think
Look inside and figure out what you are feeling.
Trust your self and your experience.
Accept that there is damage that needs to be addressed and work towards addressing it.
Be honest with yourself and your partner, especially about issues you have.
Practice owning your vulnerability by being vulnerable in small ways.
Be open to listen to your partner’s side of the story
If you feel that the damage is too extensive, seek professional help!
